Goodnight friends! Driving home today, blue-glowing rocket tower of the national space centre quickly receding into a soft vinyl-toy like blob of colour on a grey cloudy morning. Warm animal sourness and leafmould of the countryside gave way more and more to the acrid harshness of petrol fumes and damp concrete, reptile gleam and hiss of wet tarmac. Autumn seems a little further along here, wild wiry clawed silhouettes in the rapid evening.
A little dazed and groggy from the strange night’s sleep and all the recent travel, but after some reflection and reacclimatisation this evening I feel surprisingly rested, far moreso that any other trip I can recall. The longer duration gave space for full days or half days of rest, I had ready access to a bit of ad hoc hydrotherapy and support from a partner who understands my condition and helped me pace my hours and days in novel circumstances. It all added up to something that, very unusually for me, actually felt refreshing.
May we find communities of mutual support and care today!
