Goodnight friends! A wispy blue morning that dissolved by degrees into patchy, silvery drizzle. The pungent stableyard scents of warm animal bodies and manure in the air. Cobalt crowns and yellow breasts of bluetits flash back and forth in newton’s-cradle cascades among half-bare bushes.
A very luxurious and fairly gentle day to start off our holiday. I feel like this is one of the most ‘holiday-like’ experiences I’ve had, at least as an adult. We spent the morning swimming and jacuzzi-ing in the small poolhouse and spa attached to the cottages, air warm and cedar-scented. The suffusing heat and weightless sensation are a great release from pain. Then a small outing to a farm shop to prep for dinner and back for massages. After that we read and watched a movie.
May we find rest, recuperation and healing today!
