Goodnight friends! Mostly the day has been driving, rolling by varicoloured hillsides. Skies heavily streaked and dappled cold blue, fading into a tiger-striped sunset. Long violet-tinted gloaming as roads constricted into undulating lanes split by grass with brambles tapping at the car windows.
The Internet connection here is pretty ropey and unreliable, as you might expect from a little farm cottage. Some frustrations of lost convenience and habits, but the change in relative quietness and sense of presence is quickly easy and comfortable – maybe in part because it has a fixed duration. Not exactly a detox, but a chance to reframe and reflect.
May we find moments of unexpected wonder and delight in our lives today!
