Goodnight friends! Such a relief to see some blue in the sky, however partial and fleeting. Even sliding between morning blinds the light was so much brighter, with a clear, silvery quality. Leaves and berries glow again in jewel tones, paths carpeted in hammered copper. Leaping quirrel acrobats easier to trace as the season progresses, from bare branch to bare wiry branch.
Resting up and packing up today, off on a low-key holiday with my girlfriend tomorrow in a little countryside cottage, before the busyness of the winter rush to get things wrapped up and then visit family. It’d our first trip together that’s entirely self-directed, rather than being attached to a larger event or activity. I’m Looking forward to seeing another part of the country, somewhere pretty different to my suburban haunts.
May we allow ourselves to accept the flow of our thoughts and feelings today, without pushing away or clinging!
