Goodnight friends! Pale, blank watery skies like an overbearing low ceiling. No strong sense of light, let alone the sun, and a muted unrelenting damp chill. Surprising late-blooming fragments of colour, a pale lilac periwinkle and hardy pink Guernsey lilies.

A outing today to a coffee meet-up in town. I always find gatherings like this a little raucous – especially in contrast to my very small, very quiet daily life where sometimes I might happily go the day without speaking. Chaotic, both somewhat energising and draining at once, a chance to see people I’d rarely get to at smaller occasions. The strange ghost echo of human noise flutters around my ears.

May we find moments to reassess and celebrate our everyday lives with renewed pleasure and wonder today!
