Goodnight friends! Sky greying over by degrees, a bright morning but striped by long flat grey clouds, colliding and piling up and thickening hour by hour. By mid afternoon the temperature was dropping, light becoming pale and rheumy, a fine misty drizzle in the air. Leaf piles heavy and gluey with an oily gleam.
Fatigue and pain and a broad low mood mounted gradually with the changing weather, and I think maybe with the vague stress I attach to any medical appointment or procedure. Today it was vaccination boosters. I got COVID and flu simultaneously, on the basis whatever toll it takes might be less inconvenient overall than two separate trips and possible rounds of illness and exhaustion. So far my arm hardly stings, which is a hopeful sign, but I’ll be taking tomorrow slow regardless.
May we find and build gentleness, community and care in our lives today!
