Goodnight friends! Another ersatz summer day, full of bright, hard distant light, and even heating up over the day to 18°c in the full heat of afternoon. Threaded through with metallic glints of copper and gold among the treetops, neat stitched rows of deep blue shadows beside every tree. But laying my hand on steel or stone, the same warmth and concentrated bare-sky brightness that would have given them an almost living warmth now leaves them chilly.
Energy continues to gradually improve, a fun bit of food prep in the afternoon and a visit from friends to help eat it up in the evening, always a delight. My day mostly revolved around those activities, a compass needle drawing me back into the moment.
May we find moments of unexpected wonder and joy in our lives today!
