Goodnight friends! Every fortunately abandoned meadowy corner swells taller and wilder. Lolling seedheads hiss and murmur against each other, all silver and pale gold and purple, almost high enough to caress my cheek. Beneath a half-secret layer of frondy hogweeds and caterpillar-laced dock, above the are yews, old dark needles tipped by fountain sprays of fresh new green. Mild and breezy mid-teens weather, fresh and shifting checkered sky.
The general, sometimes nearly overwhelming sense of bone-deep discomfort is definitely easing up now, helped by a few warm days doing barely anything and feeling dizzy, dazed and somewhat bored. I walked a little way into the churchyard – not very much further distance-wise than shuffling around my building, but a gentle test of confidence in terms of putting myself farther from home.
May we recognise and celebrate the ways we can enrich each others’ lives today!
