Goodnight friends! Still more or less grey and humid, though it grew a little warmer towards the end of the day, and moments of damp bustling wind thinned the clouds from time to time. Road verges a speckled paintbox of colours, all swaying coral-coloured poppies and shaggy yellow hawk’s-beards, blurs of pale purple flower spikes that could be toadflax, lupins and bugloss.
My first weekend of adventures is getting started. I’m pacing it out as carefully as I can, gping step by step and giving myself permission to bail out whenever I start to feel myself sag. Very grateful to have my girlfriend with me, I’m still dragging a lingering, grinding weight of pain and fatigue with me that casts a pall of confusion and grey gloom from time to time, her delight has been buoying and infectious.
May we find warmth, community and companionship today!
