Goodnight friends! Skies a towering and wildly streaked grey, the air thick with a bitter tang of warm wet earth. Hectic sprawls of busy life everywhere. Buzz and rattle of craneflies rising up out of the grass in front of me en masse like fish fleeing the net. Foamy detritus of frohopper nymphs left on delicate snarled knots of tiny vetch stems. Hawks-bits spreading their rough, layered bright yellow parasols, red flashes from spikes of tiny sorrel flowers lost in the grass. Seems like there was another aurora chance tonight, but a combination of murky skies and urban light bleed seems to have hidden it from my vantage.
Pretty fatigued and weak-feeling today, maybe a little booster vaccine hangover on top of sleep disturbed by hotly painful joints. Hard to stick at anything for more than a few minutes before needing a break.
May we find ways to nurture and replenish each other, and ourselves, today!
