Goodnight friends! Warm and sultry, the sky a tattered patchwork of thick cloudy obelisks and flaming heraldic blue. Birds seeming too drowsy to really raise their voices, the scurrying, swarming multicoloured life in the undergrowth slowed to a tepid crawl. Reaching 25°c already at the peak of the long, hot, slowly greying afternoon. Tension was released around dusk with a soft faintly sizzling shower, dense but breathily quiet. Now the air tastes strange and delicious, a mix of wet stone and chocolate syrup.
Recovered noticeably after lounging most of yesterday and getting a somewhat better night of sleep. Brief bits of drawing, a little writing and food prep too, a slow walk and a little light stretching – quite a full day by recent measures, but in small portions and carefully paced.
May we find relief from harsh self-judgement and shame today!
