Goodnight friends! The golden slant of sunlight sliding minutely across surfaces picks out the raised dimples of roofing studs, all the finely frosted ribs of narrowleaf plantain leaves. Creeping back up above freezing and the ice has a new intensity to its glitter, an additional transient shine as it begins to melt where sunlight touches, still crumbly and white as granulated sugar in shallow shady hollows full of leaf litter. Thread-fine clouds like pale hatching on a field of endless brilliant azure.

Weary still, slept fairly poorly again, and a lot of what I think of sometimes as ‘low quality rest’, struggling to be still in a way that doesn’t seem to further hurt or exhaust me. I think the cold aches infiltrating my joints make it hard for me to feel much of a true feeling of relaxation.

May we make progress towards building sustainable, safe and healthy lives for ourselves and all those we love today!
