Goodnight friends! The rain began in the evening, a steady cooling whisper that quenched the hot earth and murmured on all through today, never fierce or hammering but with the determined hum of a crowded concourse. Steams already swell and glut and half-swallow stepping stones. The humidity is largely made bearable by the 10°c drop in temperature and something of a stirring breeze. Sun-sweetened blackberries taste just as good in the rain – maybe better even, clean and succulent.

Aching and stiff, hard to get going at all…I ended up grunting and struggling through a little exercise around 4pm, feeling too lethargic to eat more than a single meal in the early evening. Most of what little I had in me went to drawing first, which honestly I find most satisfying of the limited available options.

May we find kindness and fellowship and give them in return today!
