Goodnight friends! I thought yesterday was balmy, but today leapt over all my expectations. How strange after that long murky August to greet the leaves flaring into yellow, scarlet and purple with a glimpse backward to midsummer. A watered silk blue sky, temperatures above 25°c, wild angelica flaring up beside the streams in white umbrelled firework bursts like a late return of cow parsley. Fine patterns of silver ripples glazed the green reservoir, slow popping splashes of trout lazing just below the surface.

A day to bask to the point of indulgence in each thing I was doing, my body almost getting out of my way, absorbed into a sense of slow relaxation and ease – a long, lingering lollloping walk, hours curling away to smoke playing with drawings.

May we be unafraid to allow pleasure and frivolous joy into our lives today!
