Goodnight friends! Cool but bright today, pale, clear skies a great relief. Squirrels bolder and more confiding day by day, a new industrial boldness of summer’s waning bringing them down hungry out of the trees. More leaning and uprooted Himalayan balsams, collapsing exhausted, leaning into each other in their mammoth three metre-high thickets. Ragwort bursts into white pom-pon seedheads, echoes of the dandelions and thistles before them.
Hips and knees setting up a familiar constant thrumming ache, I feel worn down, slow to recover from even truncated exercise. Night all of a sudden feels too cold, too empty. All of this yet at the same time there’s a heartcatching tremulous excitement I sense in myself, and the air, and everything I see. All sensations of the slow rolling pall of seasons changing.
May we find heartfelt openness and honesty within ourselves and our relationships today!
