Goodnight friends! An almost absurd passage of rain today, hour on stolid soaking hour, every leaf a trembling baisin. Vetch and meadow peas beaten sown low, meadow grasses pale exhausted wet straw. A brief balmy evening hour as the sky had temporarily rained itself dry – a spectacular full moon fat and low and golden in its glory, hanging like a mirrored sunset above the evening primroses, scattering a serene radiance across low clouds. The day ended though with a fresh hammering of rain and startled wet coughs of thunder.

Pain and a wrung out, almost nauseous malaise weighed me down most of the day, and with it a helpless, spinning dread of the future as well as the present. My friend and former partner who came by to help me with food etc was also a huge help for bolstering my mood, basic human contact still a precious resource especially while I wait out my vaccination coming into full effect.

May we find a deepening sense of fellow-feeling and compassion for ourselves and each other today!
