Goodnight friends! Slept a bit better, at last, my equilibrium much restored by even a few reclaimed hours of sleep. Felt a real sense of optimism, physical stability and competence for the first time since the relapse, and managed something relatively similar to a full workout.
A few hours of still silvery clouds in the morning, but both heat and whispering zephyrs of wind picked up by early afternoon, clouds simmering away into an endless sweeping plain of pale blue. Tufted vetch with its purple feathery columns of flowers has made a resurgence, coiling, grappling stems latching onto and swarming up tall wild grasses until it appears in thickets at nearly shoulder height, binding stems of orchard grass into a kind of green spiderwebbed hedge. Tentative grasshopper trills sound across the meadows even in the long hot evenings now, life in noisy motion – bouncing and flapping and scurrying thickly in every sense at every moment.
May we find a renewed and passionate commitment to living out our values today!
