Goodnight friends! Syrupy, heavy air returning, pale clots of cloud gathering over the morning. Silent white bugle choruses of bindweed coiling and snaring as they bloom, engulfing fences and saplings. Butterflies abundant among glades and thickets, velvety near-black ringlets and orange flash of tortoiseshells. Thick honey-sweet scents of lady’s bedstraw and meadowsweet on the air, mixing discordantly with the sour mineral smell of wet earth. Soft evening rain brought a temporary partial relief from the closeness, but sleep is still hard to come by.

Energetic. but aching and unsteady on my feet, legs and stomach both a little sore from my perhaps over-eager urge to get back to the comfort and stability of my regular level of activity, and to enjoy any even half-way bright summer day as much as I can.

May we find peace and time today to fully reflect on our thoughts and feelings!
