Goodnight friends! Greyer and a little clammy, though with a similar if more humid burst of afternoon heat and brightness. More new white sparks, tiny vetch coming into flower in the meadows as the purple pennants of tufted vetch wane. Thickening banks of nettles, glossy parasols and sinister thorned buds of Himalayan balsam loom higher and higher around the streams.

A little concerned about whether it was an unfortunate choice to walk around the reservoir again today – or maybe it’s just the clouds gathering in and thickening again. Either way I’m been feeling increasingly sore and feverish over the afternoon and evening. Can only cross my fingers and hope it doesn’t signify in the longer term.

May we be uplifted by kindness and compassion and offer the same to others wherever we can today!
