Goodnight friends! Humid and heavy weather coming in fits and starts, clouds piling and tumbling, always on the edge of some ferocious crisis. As soon as the sky lightened I took the chance for a walk, between swelling walls of himalayam balsam and hogweed welling up like a flood along streams and footpaths. The grebes, who had claimed a new, less exposed nest seem to have been displaced again, this time I think – though distance makes it hard to confirm – by someone’s abandoned pet terrapin gone feral. Tearing stormy weather came later in the day, sheets of roaring rain, swift flashes in the murk, thunder clattering like cymbals tossed down a flight of stairs.
A lot of hot, throbbing joint pain today, but some snatched moments of restless, enjoyable creative productivity between stretches of dazed semi-absence.
May we find a sense of purpose and self-belief today!
