Goodnight friends! The solstice passed uneventfully for me and largely unmarked in the sky, the long day swallowed in grizzled murk and more fine whispering showers. Meadow peas, yellow winglets finely pinstriped in black, join the trefoils and rattles hidden among rain beaded, heavy-headed meadow grasses.

As usual on a Monday, especially a cold or damp one, I set aside any other potential plans and dedicated my whole energy budget to exercise. I was stumbling and staggering a little due to sore joints, but it’s a real sense of accomplishment on top of the endorphins to be able to do so much on a somewhat creaky, low stamina day.

May we grant ourselves and each other forgiveness, compassion and respite today!
