Goodnight friends! After a wet start to May verges, hedgerows and scrub woodland are dense with new leaves and flowers, more and more of which I can recognise, their strange and familiar names like a litany of charms swirling in my memory. Red campion, greater celandine, its leaves lobed and oak-edged, speedwells and crane’s-bills and wavy bittercress, borage, sticky catchweed bedstraw, blue alkanet, slithery upright leaves and white-tipped stalks of ribwort plantain among the grass. A break from showers for today and clouds began to part as afternoon wore on, giving me a welcome glimpse of clear cool sunlight.

Joints and muscles all protesting after yesterday’s workout. A slight shock to the system going back to my full program – nothing too severe, enough to make me schedule today as a bit of a rest day to help usher me, hopefully, back into a better balance.

May we find relief from grief and sadness today, and loving acceptance of the flow of life!
