Goodnight friends! A flitting, stormy changeable day of blue skies and lightning. Birdsong hushed when a midday sunset fell and a shuddering bellow of thunder seemed to roll from one horizon to the other and back. Less than an hour later I was watching butterflies like unmoored candle flames dancing above a sun-dappled meadow, canopies a crowd of lazy green pennants – and less than half an hour after I got home rain was falling again with a clatter like a torrent of spilling pennies. Thrushes took to the trees in the half-light after the deluge had softened to whispering drizzle, singing to the soft wet warmth of evening.
A post-exercise and pressure-ache rest day. Warm enough to ameliorate the worst of the pain and give me long lucid periods between showers, but still a little hazy and inconstantly present.
May we find within ourselves and offer each other gentleness and patience today!
