Goodnight friends! Blue skies still, though full of filmy threads of pale cloud today, unravelled by a gentle floral bluster of breeze. On a warm day like this one every plant has become a miniature castle, jungle, metropolis peopled densely by spiders with little green gemstone bodies and brawny heraldic shield bugs. The tall spikes of lords-and-ladies flowerbuds have sprung up, already fleshily shot through with thin dark veins. A heron’s long white throat flashes down, then bulges with a cartoonish knot as it swallows. The water shimmers and dazzles.

Feeling some expected thick exhaustion and muscle strain from coming back to more intense exercise after a break, but none of the poisoned leaden panicky feeling of relapse. Waves of vertigo continue, but not too far beyond the ordinary. I didn’t do a lot today, but whether its – hopefully – coming out of a relapse, or just scattered moments like making a sandwich, managing to chat with people online recently, I feel accomplished and glad.

May we find balance and calm in our lives today!
