Goodnight friends! Weather more hectic and fitful again, a break from the rain and interminable grey but just as cold, and another flurrying interlude of feathery snow. The kind of patchwork sky that brings out fleeting magical effects, two different worlds sliding past each other – golden sunlight pooling over meadows below stormy blue-black clouds. It seemed for a while that cherry blossom might be flagging, but a new later-blooming white shimmer is beginning to light up the trees, while the shy spiky buds of hawthorns have yet to fully show themselves.
Less sickly-feeling and dazed today, although everything is still hurting more and taking longer than usual, and I’m being as cautious as possible. Aiming to be purposefully gentle with myself about my exercise routine, and keep in mind that schedules and goals don’t mean anything if they compromise my health in the longer term.
