Goodnight friends! An ecstatic change in the weather over the morning. A warm but overcast beginning cleared out rapidly under the dazzling force of the sun, the kind of heat and brightness that hits you with a palpable tidal force the moment you open the door. Not height of summer heat by any means, but what a change, topping 17°c today after even the most luxurious day this month barely hit 12. Porcelain white magnolias opening in gardens, crowns of pale green buds forming on the hawthorn trees.
Slept badly last night and woke out of sorts, bad habits and overcast skies conspiring. It was a good few hours before I got some sun on my face and managed to get myself into my exercise commitment, but moving my body in the gentle spring breeze had a curative effect.
